GeoID is a professional tool for measuring and analyzing geological structures. This application includes geological compass, stereographic projection, instability analysis and wireless data sharing.

Best app for taking attitudes!
I've been using this app for about 2 years and it is fabulous. I don't even carry a bruton any more, and a few of the other geologists on my team have taken to it as well. I open different projects for bedding and structures, having a stereo net for each lets me see different domains develop as I map. Seeing that real time, in the field is very powerful. I haven't found any app as good as this one.
Great structure tool!
I think it's worth the money. Have yet to really test in field (want to do a Brunton vs smartphone test) but it worked well on some homemade structures I made. Many great options and very easy to use. Recommended for structural geologists!
What I liked:
-Lets you use your iPhone as a compass to measure strike/dip, trend/plunge by using magnetometer.
-Can enter data manually or using the magnetometer.
-Plots circles (planes), and points (lines) on a stereonet (10 or 2 degree option)
-Can compare stereonet to current plane.
-Can highlight intersections of planes on steronet.
-Many options to single out data on stereonet all quickly accessible.
-Failure Analysis
-Ability to export projects via bluetooth, email as text
-Ability to store multiple projects
-Very professional look (Looks like a tool and not a toy, if that matters to you)
What I didn't like:
-Won't export photo of stereonet (but you can always use the phone's 'Print Screen' function by simultaneously holding down "Hold" and the "Home" button. It says you can in the description, but I can't seem to find the option to send anything but a text file in either text or scv (comma separated values).
-Kind of expensive. Give us geologists a break. We need to be saving our money for beer!
Great app has everything you need to collect and analyze structural data!
This app is fantastic! I love the options to plot and analyze your data on stereo nets and rose diagrams, the ability to export a text or csv file, and the option to take a photo along with a measurement. This app is really well designed and easy to use.
