Description

Have you ever wondered not only where traffic incidents are on the freeways, but also what's happening with them -- for example, what time the ambulance got there, if the car that broke down has a tow truck on the way, and so on?

Now there's an app for that: The California Highway Patrol (CHP) meticulously logs every incident that is reported on freeways in California, and even some that aren't on freeways (maybe close to a freeway, but not necessarily on one). Anyone can retrieve that information. This app presents it in a much more readable fashion than is available from the CHP.

Major Features:
• View the incidents on a map
• Glossary, so you can decipher what the CHP shorthand actually means.
• A "Mark" button that lets you mark the locations of incidents and traffic hazards so you can more easily report them to the authorities later.

FOR CALIFORNIA ONLY.

What’s New

Version 4.22

- Fixes glossary not being visible when dark mode is enabled
- A few more enhancements to the app's look and feel
- Updates some code under-the-hood to keep the app in good shape moving forward

Great app

This app saves me from having to use the CHP web page which is annoying on an iPhone. I have tried it on an iPad and iPad 2 but it crashes. That is too bad. I really like the app and hope it gets stabalized for the iPad soon.

Used to use it daily

They ruined this app! Why they eliminated the cities in the incident app is a mystery! Pretty much useless now

Constant "Error loading/Parsing" :-(

Although slow, the app originally worked most of the time, with just an occasional "Error loading/parsing" hang up. The error messages became more frequent, and now are constant. It is much easier and faster to access the UFO directly from the CHP Traffic site, even though there is no map feature and it's a bit awkward to navigate on a small iPhone screen. At least the CHP site works.
