Description

In cooperation with ophthalmologists with experience in successful amblyopia treatment, the first iPad App designed to assist in keeping vision acuity and assisting in amblyopia correction [Captain Lazy eye] has been created!

That overall out of 100 people there are 1 to 4 people who are amblyopia.
That in regions with poorer medical care that the rate is even higher!

We’ve invited a former Ophthalmology department director of both Changhua Christian Hospital and Chungshan Medical University in Taiwan, Dr. Sharon Chuang, for her career-spanning experience in successfully treating amblyopia children in order to design a software specially for assisting vision correction for these children.

Between the ages 3 to 8, it is the perfect time for treatment of amblyopia. After this golden period, nerves in the eye begin to mature, and correction thereafter becomes increasingly difficult. That’s why if there’s a history of severe nearsightedness or astigmatism, it’s best to bring your children to a physician to check his/her eyesight as soon as possible.

Correction of amblyopia usually involves tedious and repetitive coordinative exercise, such as navigating a maze on paper, drawing lines on paper, etc. The blandness of such exercises is the primary reason that children become resentful or even express refusal to cooperate in the treatment!

The App turns amblyopia correctional exercises into fun and interesting games, assisting them with fascinating themes like pirates and princesses, enticing the children to perform the necessary occlusion for the training and ultimately making real correctional progress.

Recovery of vision from amblyopia does not happen overnight, nor is there a shortcut. This is precisely why active participation of those who need it is vital.

The Vision Tx. likes it but the snot has to go! Pretty please?

I'm not quite sure what to make of this but will show it to our vision therapist to see her take on it. There are no instructions and only a brief letter of recommendation that doesn't give any real information on what the app does or how it does it. Also the screenshots of the full version have grammatical and spelling errors, so it doesn't give me a lot of confidence to start off with! I agree the snotty nosed pirate kid-who remains in the lower left part of the screen the entire time- is annoying to look at, and I'm not sure what the purpose of that was. It is completely irrelevant to the task at hand, and I do want my son to pick up this habit as he has enough habits to work on ;) So if the vision therapist thinks this is good, I would only consider buying the full version minus the snot.

Update: The vision therapist was impressed. I, however, cannot stand the snotty-nosed pirate. Unless the full program becomes close to free, or Pirate Kid learns how to blow his nose, I probably won't be using this much.

Please!!

Please get rid of the snotty nosed pirate kid! It's disgusting and has nothing to do with the exercises.

Ugg!

Full of ads, with an obnoxious character picking his nose during the one free game included. I can't speak to it's vision enhancing properties but there's no
way I'm giving this to my kid. Too bad, I was hoping for help getting him to do his vision exercises. I'm so glad I didn't spend $25 for full version.
