jLight - Flashlight for iPhone 4+

I have literally tried every flashlight app and night light app available trying to find one that would allow me to set the screen to red so that I could use the light in the theater without distracting those around me. Finally, my search is over! JLight is the app I’ve been searching for! While you can use the phone flash if you choose, this app allows you to set the screen to any color you want and lock it so that when you open the app all you get is that screen color with no ads. Fantastic! The only flaw is that the screen strobes/pulses slightly until you tap the screen. Minor inconvenience for all the benefits, but allowing the user to disable the strobe effect would move this to a five-star perfect app!

I’ve had this one and only flashlight app for a very long time and it’s always worked great up until the last few months. For some reason, it’s failed to work for me several times. It may not be the fault of the app though, it could just be my Iphone, or I may need to re-install the app to update or re-boot it.

I use this basic flashlight almost once every day (at least). When I grab my iPhone X, at the most convenient spot (lower left corner), I’m almost always ensured the light will disappear...until I move my hand. Unknowingly, the screen frequently flips a to full screen light or menu showing options (remove ads, etc). When this happens, I must go to settings to reset the brightness. It’s the same with the percentage of light. I didn’t change it to 15%. THE worst, function, however, is the strobe light!!!
I understand it can be useful, in an emergency. But, I can’t say how many times I’ve been blinded as a result!

The main reason I’m not removing this app is it’s simple to use. Also, none of these issues occur when I use the flashlight on locked screen.
