Description
Using the MyAway app in Guest-tek enabled hotels allows you to pair your device to your hotel room’s TV. From your device, you then have full control of your in-room TV experience, including:
• TV remote control (Power, Volume, etc.).
• Navigate TV menus
• View the program guide
• Browse and purchase hotel movie content
MyAway is also World Radio enabled, so you are able to pick up your favourite stations no matter where you are.
You no longer have to wonder where to eat while you’re travelling; MyAway has made it even easier by providing you with a list of all the nearby restaurants
Connecting is easy:
1) Download the MyAway App
2) Pair your device with the rooms TV using the MyAway connect code.
3) Navigate and explore all the options on the OneView Media System
Once you’re connected you’ll have all this all in one place for your convenience:
• Weather information
• Restaurants, Banks, Tourist Location of many of listings available on the embedded, location aware map
• View your hotel folio
• Express Checkout
• View the hotel compendium

Ratings and Reviews
Useless
App is really useless. Particularly because you are unable to stream your videos on the hotel’s TV.
I have heard that it works at some hotels but not most and did not work in mine.
Being able to use my phone as a remote and to choose the PPV movies offered is not really something to call “advance technology”, I get the same with the regular remote control.
GuestTek should improve connectivity, even if you charge for the use of the service.
I am sure guests wouldn’t mind to pay an extra $5 to $10 extra to watch their PPV even (ea boxing or mma) to watch it on a larger TV. Or the same applies to Netflix or other services.
Screen Mirroring does not work all the time
This was the first time I used MyAway due to the hotel I am staying at having it. When trying to mirror the screen on my iOS device, it goes straight to Apple TV on the TV in my room instead of just mirroring my iPhone screen.
The directions that MyAway provides to set up screen mirroring are absolutely clunky and are vague.
The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the random times were screen mirroring does decide to work it works fairly well. Other than that I would not want to be put in a place that uses this product. I can see the potential or the intended use but my experience was subpar.
Another lie and terrible app
I got really excited I wouldn’t have to plug my laptop in - however here at the m social in NYC I couldn’t stream ANYTHIN, not even local videos or photos from my iPhone. I was connected to the wifi at the hotel and tried all the troubleshooting steps to no avail. On top of that the UX is extremely tired and old. Neither Airplay nor Chromecast options did anything but produce a black screen and not connect at all, respectively. No updates in 4 years, no one even cares apparently - what a waste
