Description

King is a trick-taking card game played by four players. The game is popular in many countries and is similar to the Barbu (Tafferan) game. It uses a standard 52-card pack, ranking from highest to lowest A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 in each of the four suits.

Trump contracts are positive contracts. Tricks taken in the trump games give positive points.

There are six negative contracts:
No Tricks, No Hearts, No Boys, No Girls, No King of Hearts, No Last Two.
Taking cards/tricks gives a penalty points.

See help page for the detailed rules of the game.

Enjoy simple interface and attractive game view!

Great Game! Quick ads

I love this game!! it’s a combo of different games...so it really twists my brain to switch gears between taking hands and avoiding things.
Most great games are ruined by crazy ads, but the ads in Kings aren’t too often and can all be easily skipped which is great :)

Great Game; Could Be Better

I’ve been playing Barbu for years, and play King almost daily. I think the scoring can be improved in several ways. First, every hand should be worth about the same as every other hand. There is no need for Queens to total -6 and Losing Tricks to total-13. Second, I would not bonus people who take no (negative) tricks (or penalize someone who takes no (positive) tricks. One should be bonused if one outperforms the declarer and the declarer should be penalized for underperforming another player. Third, the nice thing about Barbu was that it was a zero-sum game; King should be too. Fourth, I loved FanTan. Can’t that be added back into King?

Nothing but frustration

99% of players are bots posing as players. They have names but they are bits and yes, they cheat. The scoring is so whack that although there are 10 rounds of play you can easily go down 50 points or more after those rounds. If you fail to take any tricks in a round, a very common occurrence, zero is not enough of a punishment I guess. You lose 2 points in addition. Why do you lose 2 points for getting zero??? One round requires taking no hearts, another no tricks at all. If the other 3 players choose those options in a row, you can potentially go down 100 points. Very few actual players in this game and there is no relief as the score is endless. All the other “players” have scores in the 10’s of thousands. If you play daily and consistently you will be lucky to reach 1000 points.
