- Automatically store your data in Apple Health
- Create multiple user profiles
- Set your low and high thresholds for each parameter

The Masimo Personal Health App is only for use with the MightySat fingertip pulse oximeter. This App (together with the MightySat fingertip pulse oximeter) allows you to non-invasively measure blood oxygen saturation, pulse rate, and perfusion index. MightySat provides additional parameters which include respiration rate and pleth variability index. The compatible Masimo devices are available for sale in select countries only. Visit us at www.MasimoPersonalHealth.com (in the United States) or at www.MasimoPersonalHealth.co.uk (outside the United States) to find out how you may purchase the MightySat device.

MightySat uses Signal Extraction Technology (SET®) to provide accurate oxygen saturation and pulse rate measurements when other pulse oximeters fail, such as during movement and low blood flow.

Measurements:

Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) - the oxygen level in the arterial blood to indicate changes due to heart or lung function, oxygen use by your body, or altitude

Pulse Rate (PR) - the number of pulses per minute to indicate overall fitness as well as exertion levels at a particular moment in time

Perfusion Index (Pi) - the strength of blood flow to your finger to indicate changes in blood circulation

Respiration Rate (RRp) - the number of breaths you are taking each minute to indicate how well your heart and lungs are functioning as well as how quickly you can recover after exercise.

Pleth Variability Index (PVi) - the variation in perfusion index over your breathing cycle. Changes in PVi may indicate changes in hydration, breathing effort, perfusion, or other factors. ¹ ² ³ *

* It is suggested to measure PVi in the same body position, remaining still and without talking, at the same breathing rate and depth of breathing, until you see a high confidence PVi value (displayed value is bright, not dim). An increase in PVi may indicate a decreased level of hydration, increased breathing effort, or other factors. A decrease in PVi may indicate an increased level of hydration, decreased breathing effort, or other factors. Multiple factors other than hydration and breathing effort can affect PVi, including breathing rate, depth of breathing, body position, body movement, vascular tone, blood flow to the finger (perfusion index), normal variation within a short-term monitoring session, waveform shape changes, and/or cardiovascular abnormalities.

Needs improvements

The app seems to have been released a tad too soon and has a number of bugs that would seem easy to fix.
The Edit function available in History does not seem to do anything, unless what is actually intended is a Select functionality.
Tapping the Share as CSV button shows the usual options but the cancel button is non-functional.
Why not provide a trend graphic longer than a few beats? The Y scale can be tweaked but the time scale cannot.
The app has no option for working in the background and if one wants to save the data when taking a measurement one has to wake up the app as well. Not very convenient when working out.

Dumbed down version—good version (Pro) no longer works with older Masimo plethysmograph

I purchased a Masimo pulse oximeter for use with my iPhone in 2013 for $250. I liked it a lot. The app allowed me to do long continuous recordings and I could see a reasonable tracing by turning my phone sideways. Now, I find the app I can use has been “dumbed down”: it shows a poor quality tracing only with phone upright, so you can only see a few beats. I’ve discovered the good version of the app (this one) still exists but it no longer works with my device. I would have to spend another $300 to buy a MightSatRx to get the features I previously had with my $250 purchase. Apparently there’s an “Rx” wired version that also works with the good app (“Pro”) but I haven’t been able to find that one for sale. Not that I want to buy another $250 device just to get the same features that I used to have with my prior purchase. This is extremely aggravating! I feel that early adopters of this device should have been given continued access to the good, not “dumbed down”, version of the app, instead of having functionality stripped away because you decided to release a new version of the device.

Ehh works but needs some fine tuning

Syncs to Training Peaks and Apple Health. Reliable syncing to Training Peaks but hit or miss on Apple sync.

Would be great if all data sets would sync with TP and not just HR and Spo2.

Not disappointed with the device but software sure could use some attention. Fix the syncing, add option to include all data set to TP, add rotation option to go landscape/portrait on IPad and iPhone.
