Trusted by millions of Muslims who rely upon Scan Halal everyday. The most informative source on halal food products.

Scan Halal is largest halal foods organization bringing transparency to the halal food industry and providing valuable and much-needed information readily available at their fingertips to make better informed halal dietary choices. Scan Halal was born out of frustration with reading through all the long worded hard to pronounce time consuming ingredients that so many of us muslims struggle with every day.

We handle the complicated stuff, so you don't have to. Simply scan the barcode (UPC/EAN) of the product you wish to consume and within seconds our app will breakdown the sources of ingredients (plant, animal, synthetic, etc) and display the halal status. Our app service is trusted by millions of muslims and other halal consumers who rely upon Scan Halal everyday.

Made by the team at scanhalal.org. There’s lots of work that goes on behind the scenes, working around the clock at Scan Halal to make sure things are running smoothly. Our team of food technologists, nutritionist, and auditors have a strong understanding in food matters and a wealth of industry experience that work endlessly to serve both the Muslim community and Halal Certification Industry.

Products waiting for review/Love the App

Hello,
I have submitted a bunch of items that had not been scanned before. I have been avoiding eating some of these items because I am waiting for the review on Halal Scan. This has been over a year ago since I submitted them and they still have not sent me the review on these items. Other than that, I have had no issues with the app. It is very convenient and I love sharing it with my friends and family. I work with a demonstration group and we pass out samples and sometimes I use the app to show people that they can or cannot have the foods, they are impressed and say they will get the app too.
Thanks for making the app and Insha’Allah the Halal restaurants near me section will be available soon.

2 steps ➡️, 4 steps ⬅️🙈💔

I was pleasantly surprised to see the recent update and happy to do so. However, I don’t understand why I have to turn on my Apple Two-Factor Authentication JUST to sign in to the app and feel free to use its features as intended. It seems like the developers took 2 steps forward with the update, but went 4 steps back with the unnecessary authentication! Please explain to me why this two-factor needs to be turned on just to use the app as usual, and what has that got anything to do with scanning/checking products for halaal content or lack thereof??? Doesn’t make any sense. I am humbly requesting you to permanently turn off this feature as I don’t use two-factor authentication because I deem it as an unnecessary extra step. Let’s try to keep it simple and easy to use please, for all kinds of users. 😓🙏🏾 It shouldn’t be this complicated just to simply confirm a product quality or halaal validility. Either turn it off, or let me still use the app the regular way. And make the two-factor thing optional for users who feel more comfortable using it with such a feature.

Issues with the scanning!

Hi, this app sometimes doesn’t let me scan the items I want to scan. Instead it just tells me to scan orange juice so that the app can store its data. And I understand that but other times it really becomes annoying especially if you are unable to help. Instead that image just keeps on popping to the point it’s useless, you can’t use the app. You guys to to make it optional whether that individual will scan the required data or not. Don’t force it, cause then we can’t use it unless that particular image is scanned. Example if I’m in my house and I want to scan an item to know if it’s halal or not and that image pops up telling to scan an orange juice box which I don’t know what particular orange juice it requires me to scan, I can’t use the app. It won’t let me!! And I find that REALLY ANNOYING! Because it happened to me not once or twice but more than that! So please FIX THAT!!!
