not worth one star not a good look for BCBS

I am sure that anyone that works at BCBS and needs help within this app is secretly using another insurance!
I do all my business on my phone and have successfully ordered deliveries and all times of the day, any day of the week at any time of the year for food service companies from large national/International vendors, small boutique vendors, local & national produce vendors and even a made to order vendor - NEVER have I had as much headaches as when using this sad excuse of an “app” from such a world wide company as BCBS!
It could be that this “CareFirst” is a smaller unit in Maryland and not able to be part of the behemoth’s web management system but I doubt it. It absolutely makes no sense how utterly nonsensical, useless & unnerving this stinky mess is to use…
Sadly we are tied to this “insurance” choice for one year or until the idiot that decided this one was better and more accomodating than Cigna hears enough angry users’ calls demanding better use of hard earned monthly pay for insurance.
Meanwhile, what a piece of nothing is this “app.”

We would be better off without an app at all

First, this is a multi-BILLION dollar company and this app is a poor wrap on a poor mobile experience, and riddled with so many bugs it is entirely unusable. Where do I start

-Do you need to log in? Oh it’s fine you can’t type in the OTP it sends you to the bottom to pick a language.
-Once you do log in the top and bottom of the wrap disappear
-Do you need to return to a previous page? Too bad, it will just send you home
-Do you need to find a doctor? If you move too quickly it just logs you out, and you have to go back to fighting to even enter a password, and the cycle continues.

I work in software, I don’t understand how this experience is so bad when anything at all would be better including the fact mobile development has improved by orders of magnitude in the last 10 years alone.

I honestly think the company would offer a better user experience for their customers if they just got rid of the app and told us flat out they just don’t want to sink the tiny bit of money out to help people locked into their plans, they have our money so why invest in us at all?

In short, don’t even try this app. Or do and go ahead and bill insurance when you need medical attention for the insane amount of stress this will put on you.

Glitchy, sticky, not user friendly, and unreliable

I think it’s kind of crazy that a giant like CareFirst can’t put together a skilled development team to roll out changes and fix the issues within this app. I’ve been part of CareFirst since November 2017, with a brief switch for a few months to US Family Health Plan. For a year and a half, this app has not changed or gotten better. Issues I’ve always had include inability to log in (I can’t even access my medical information because I physically cannot get in), links not working, formulary documents unable to download or unavailable to access, slow load times, sticky buttons, and an unfriendly user design overall. There are so many simple fixes that a skilled developer could quickly make to improve this app, yet for at least a year, in my own experience, nothing has been done. There are so many skilled developers who could improve the app immensely, find them and hire them.
