Good but needs improvement

In general, it works fine. However, I feel it requires few improvements. There were few problems I faced using this app: First, it doesn't allow me to save pages as PDF. I've tried to use this feature on multiple occasions but to no avail. Second, when the pages are too long, it doesn't save the screenshot page into my photo album. Third, this is just a minor inconvenience- when I use bookmark feature to open the app, it brings me to the home page instead of the page I opened the app with. I wish the developers would consider these points for next update. Other than above-mentioned problems, the quality of the screenshot pages is good.

Developer Response ,

Hi solarthrottle

Firstly thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts of Page Grab with us, as you can learn just as much from a negative review as a positive one but let me see if I can help you get the most out of page grab as possible so lets start with your first concern which is convert to PDF

PDF Conversion:
So when you click convert to PDF an alert pops up telling you the name of the file for example "google.pdf" it takes the name from the title of the page you captured and stored it in the apps "documents folder" now depending on device to get to the document folder:

On iPad
There should be a button that looks like a folder in the bottom toolbar.
On iPhone/iPod
The share button which looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward which is also in the bottom toolbar, this opens a menu with a few options and select "Document Folder" then you should see a list of all the PDF's or other images you have saved there.

Large images and camera roll:
I have just tested this on the latest version of page grab with the longest page i could find and it saved ok to the camera roll, however I did notice that a few iOS updates ago some strange behaviour with the photos app crashing and I eventually figured out that it was due to having very long and very large (100MB+) images in there that I had captured with Page Grab and I had to delete them all on my Mac to make the photos app work again but I believe Apple have now fixed this bug. So I would try this feature again on version 2.3 to see if the issue is still there and if so please let me know and I'll check it out further (contact info should be on this page).

Bookmarklet:
Yes this is a little bug, but as with all bugs there is always a workaround, Page Grab needs to be open and running in the background for this feature to work so you could either tap the Bookmarklet once which will open page grab then go back to your browser and tap it again to bring the page or open Page Grab then tap the bookmarklet. This seems to be because if PG app is closed it doesn't receive the page URL correctly but I will add this to the list of things to look in to fixing and if now I'll add it to the bookmarklet instructions in the help section so it is clear for our users.

Sorry for the rambling reply, I just thought is you took the time to write an honest review, then the least I could do was reply in kind.

Thanks again for the review and I hope you continue to enjoy using our apps 😀. GC

Poor quality capture

Capturing is pretty straight forward and fast, but the result image has poor quality and low resolution. I can’t use it. Requesting a refund with Apple.

Works well

Exactly what I thought it would be, and wanted. Allows you to save a page or image on a page. I think the quality of the saved image exceeds that of a regular screen capture. Allows basic editing of the image, also. Not an expensive app, and pay once only. I simply won’t pay for subscription apps, so was happy to give it a try, and wasn’t disappointed. Nice capture app.
