Description

Where Have I Been (WHIB) is a great way to keep track of your life. WHIB automatically chronicles your day by dropping location crumbs as you move from one location to another. As you collect crumbs, they can be viewed in a variety of ways to help you understand how and where you spend your time. Even if you think you know how you live your life, WHIB can tell you something new.

We respect your privacy, and your personal information stays only with you. We use your battery very efficiently, using on average less than 3% of your battery per day.

What can WHIB do for you?

“Where was I this time last year?” - Go back in time and see where you were at any time since you installed the app;
“How do I spend my time?” - Visually see how much time you spend flying, driving, walking, commuting, at work, at home, or in any other place;
“How many places have I visited?” - World travelers can track every country and city they visit;
Bill by the hour - Track how long you spend with each client at different locations;
Consultants - Track and brag about all the countries and cities you've visited;
Field Force - Pilots, delivery agents, field operations - track how long you're in air, on the road, or just out and about;
Productive People - Keep track of your day so you can manage your time better;

WHIB contains an in-app monthly subscription to upgrade to the premium version. Free users may use all the features of the app but have access to only the last three weeks of their data. Upgrade to the premium version using the in-app subscription to unlock access to your entire history.

This app was named Journey for some time.

** Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. This app requires location services and a data connection on your device to work properly.

Not very accurate

I have all the tracking options on , but it’s not very accurate. It doesn’t know when I’m biking, always thinks I’m in a car. Has had issues capturing short walks to the corner of the block. Minutes estimates are always shorter than the time actually taken. The app is simple to use but I need more accuracy.

Good app that has now essentially stolen from me

The app is good but recently switched to a subscription model. I can’t fault for the developer for wanting to try a different business model for new users but revoking the lifetime premium license for the previous purchasers amounts to stealing. I would have never purchased or tried this app if it was a subscription and while reviewing my history today I’m notified that in 3 months my previously purchased feature is to be terminated. For potential customers do yourself a favor and find another app/developer that won’t take away your previously purchased content at their convenience.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern with our decision to change to a subscription model for existing users. As it states in the app, every crumb dropped within the app needs to be processed by a map service to convert geospatial coordinates into an address location, and further to an establishment (restaurant etc). These add up to millions of service requests per month for our users. Map services are no longer free, and we have been absorbing the cost of these services for a few years now while looking for viable alternatives. After exhausting all possible options, we reluctantly decided to switch to a subscription model simply in order to meet our costs. After a few other similar apps were forced to shut down due to such costs, we had little choice in the matter.

Great app, used to be much better, slow to update

Absolutely loved this app back around 2015, lots of updates and it seems to lose basic functionality as it adds bells and whistles.
Biggest gripe is the updates come out very slow, so unfortunately it breaks with new iOS updates and may take months and months to work again.
Makes me hate apple for crap backwards comparability.
