Home network WiFI
This is great for remote replacement. It would be even better to connect to my home WIFI to open anywhere with internet connection. For example if I wanted to let my maintenance guy in and no one is home I could let them in with this app.
Open Sesame app
Love this app. Have it on my iPhone and my wife's iPhone. The little black electronic box from the company was straight forward to install. If you can't do it the kid next door can. This has the same ability as the key fob remote that has batteries inside that came with your garage door. I now leave my garage door remote at home. I took it out of my car so thieves can't break into my car and use my remote to open my garage door and clean me out. Now I never forget my iPhone since I use it to close my garage door. The battery life on my iPhone is not affected. I highly recommend Open Sesame.
Update: just finished an Electric Power rotating 3-day planned power outage (yes, California). I really appreciate the Open Sesame app displaying the battery status of the Open Sesame black box when the app is in use. Still working flawlessly and very reliablely. Still highly recommend Open Sesame.
Second generation
The first thing I see is that the wires are solid,not stranded. That was my big complaint with the first one. Stranded wire that small was very hard to work with. I recently removed my first unit from the motor connectors and installed it at the wall switch. That will make the new one much easier to install. The wall switch is just inside the door of my detached garage.
I have been using the new one for a while and it has much greater range than the last one. I can open my garage door while still on the sidewalk instead of halfway across the driveway.
