Glass Planner 4+

It's unlikely you'll find a better integration of your calendar and to do list. Your day is typically a mix of tasks and appointments which have to be organized by time: Glass Planner does this perfectly. Additions and changes are fast and easy, making Glass Planner incredibly useful for dynamic planning and ripping through your execution list. Longer term project planning is basic but has the essential tools to create and schedule multi-task activities. With the focus on time as the primary organizing principle, nothing gets lost and more gets done.

Before I started using Glass Planner I was using few to-do apps. Some of them were great such as todoist. Even when I used these apps I found myself procrastinating and eventually most tasks ended up overdue.

I was trying to find out why it happens and when I looked back at projects that I was successful in executing I realized that they were attached to times. I even looked back in my old Day Runner organizers.

I started looking for some calendar app and tried some good apps but none of them had the functionality I was looking for.

I remembered two quotes that help know what I am looking for. One from a previous job VP Who used to say "If it is not scheduled is not being done" and another "live life in units of 30 minutes "

I am using Glass Planner for a while and my life was actually changed. I put almost everything into the app, I can open the app any time of the day and see the flow of my life. What was done, what has to be done and what is overdue.

I do better professionally, academically and family wise. I do have more time to spend with my family, read books and watch reruns.

Have to say that the app is very powerful but also very complex and it takes time to use it correctly. Some of the interface is awkward but it does not take from the effectiveness of the app.

Glass Planner could be a killer app in the task management space. The concept is a radical vision in the vast wasteland of GTD centric list based task management apps. One of the very few apps that understand that task management must be calendar centric then coupled the concept with an elegant UI well-designed for the phone environment. An utter failure to understand however that no one with a REAL task list is going to input their individual tasks using a thumb keyboard. A task managment app MUST have zero friction task capture/input, Glass has massive friction getting your tasks into the system. Also falls into the fantasy that having an algorithm suggest the task to fill the time available is value-adding. NO - software that helps ME plan my tasks is the killer not software that presumes the time available is the key parameter. Slide Rule software appears to have abandoned a product that had enormous potential but did not take off because of very "fixable" flaws. It's sad really because the potential was enormous.
