Description

The CRADLE White Eye Detector app helps parents detect the appearance of white eye in pictures of their children. A white pupil can be a normal photographic effect in pictures (like red eye, but white). White eye can also be a symptom of multiple serious eye diseases such as retinoblastoma, pediatric cataract, and Coats' disease. These diseases are often first detected by parents because the parent notices white eye in pictures of their children. This app will find pictures on your iPhone or iPad that have white eye, and will show you these pictures so that you can inspect them for yourself.

App closes itself

Just downloaded this after reading a story in RD about the developer. I was intrigued so I wanted to check it out. The camera mode appears to work fine, but when I select the option to scan photos, the app crashes, starts scanning then just closes.

A useful tool for monitoring eye health.

I have read some of the negative reviews and it seems that the issues could be resolved for the most part by adjusting the settings for the camera. I work in an ophthalmology office and unfortunately most people only get eye exams for their children when they think their vision maybe impaired and rarely get regular exams to check the health of the eyes. This app doesn’t come close to replacing those exams, but may help encourage parents to take their children in for those very important exams or at least warn them of potential problems. I have used it for several little ones and found it to be accurate but not infallible but when combined with regular exams it is a very helpful tool to monitor eye health.

Won’t work

I tried to contact via app support instead of writing a negative review, but was unable to contact you through that method. I updated to the most recent version, but the “buttons” do not work consistently. As soon as I push “search photos,” everything freezes. I’ve tried closing and restarting the app. I have allowed photo access. I thought y’all should know so it could be addressed. Will change my review once I am actually able to use the app properly. Thank you.
