STD Photo Sketch 4+

Overall this app is really great and it makes The filters look like actual drawings in each streak of the ‘pencil’. It just asked you to asked to review it way too many times, and there’s a significant amount of adds I guess you would expect this from a cheep app, but the product is overall pretty good there’s a lot of questions asking if you can rate it.

I have always been a fan of free apps, because well, they’re free. A lot of them are deleted minutes after I first downloaded them though because of all the paywalls and paid features. It gets to the point where an app is like Netflix; where the only way you CAN use it is by paying for it. And that’s totally fine if the app is worth the money.

This app is “free done right”, where a decent amount of the features are actually free, and there are about 60% more that you can pay for. I love this. It balances a premium app and a free one perfectly. I rarely write reviews for apps, but this one was an instance where I couldn’t help myself *not* write a review.

If the developer reads this: thanks for making an awesome piece of software. I love your premium model and I think it’s a perfect example of what a free app SHOULD be.

I have too many questions to give this app an honest rating. It would be helpful to have a tutorial attached to the app. I poked around and finally figured out how to change the color of the font. At first, I changed the box color which was NOT what I wanted to do. The two photos I chose washed out. Do I not have any control to darken or lighten the “sketch” or alter the contrast and exposure? My results appear flat and do not match the sample result. I will play with it a little more after this review unlocks a few more features but I am not very confident this is the right app for me.
