Return to the world of TRISM.

In July 2008, Steve Demeter launched his indie game TRISM the first day the AppStore opened. TRISM went on to chart in the Top 10 overall for many months, winning a landslide of industry awards. Among a number of media appearances, Apple featured Steve in an Apple keynote as the first of their AppStore developer showcase documentaries.

Released ten years to the day since TRISM and the AppStore first launched, TRISM 2 is a return to form in AppStore gaming. Offering a level of vision and uniqueness that could only be achieved via an indie passion project, TRISM 2 boasts a fully interactive open world, deep narrative storyline, branching subquests, multiple endings, and episodic content.

An Original Sequel to a Timeless Classic - with one flaw

I’m a huge fan of Trism! I remember watching the Apple doc. they made for the developer! Trism was one my favorite games and one of my favorite purchases ever on the AppStore! It’s been 10 years since the original game. I was so excited to hear about this sequel and like how it had a story line and being completely original to the first game! In Trism 2, it’s more of an adventure game with Trism puzzles than a Trism arcade feeling. I wish the developer included an updated Trism Infinism and time trial modes back into Trism 2 as separate game modes! Because sometimes I want to play an arcade version of the game and not an adventure! I still love the adventure game in Trism 2 but I really wish the arcade version of Trism was in the sequel so I can play it on my iPhone X! I still have the old Trism game to play it still but it’s not formatted to fit the screen! Overall, Mr. Demeter you created in heck of a game and I can tell!! So glad you took your time with game and I’m so glad you finished what you started! — thanks from a long time fan! 🎮

I've wasted hours of time playing ;)

I see several negative comments, but I like the game and think I will love it when it is finished. To be fair, there were a few issues. I received an error message when connecting to Facebook then the "throbbed" never disappeared after trying to connect so I had to restart. I was disappointed that I couldn't move on after completing the first world, but like that the new world shows the % each section is until complete. Hopefully those %s will increase and we can update soon. IF YOU LOVE THE OLD TRISM this game is the same in principle, but follows a story. Hopefully a new update is on the way.

Feels like a different game

The original Trism was the game I wanted more than any other before I got an iPhone. I played it for literally years.

This doesn’t feel like Trism.

Sure there are triangles in a hexagonal grid, and it’s a puzzle game. But that’s it. You can’t move the rows of pieces, which is what made the original game feel so new and gave it so much of its strategy & depth.

Instead this is basically a match 3 game on a tilt.

The app feels SLOW. It spends so much time playing long animations that it often gives me a ‘please wait’ indicator. Trism never did that. It’s incredibly frustrating.

The game stops my music/podcast, even with sounds disabled. At one point it re-enabled music while I was playing. When you get stuck and bombs fill the field it doesn’t ensure that you’ll have a playable move afterward, so you can get stuck. It’s not always clear where to go for he next level.

If you pass a level too fast you can’t earn all the stars, putting you in the position of trying to AVOID winning to get your score up.

This feels like a candy crush clone made by someone who saw a screenshot of the original game.

I’m sorry. I know it’s been in development for a long time. When I saw there was a sequel, even though I saw it had been changed to have a story, I bought it instantly.

But the core gameplay doesn’t feel the same.
