Using the iOS notifications feature, Westminster Chimes converts your phone into an old fashioned hourly chiming clock, playing the traditional Westminster Chimes tune. With an optional in-app purchase you can unlock additional chime melodies:
• Whittington
• St. Michael's
• Canterbury
• Winchester
Simple settings allow for complete customization:
• Separately set the chimes to play on each quarter hour
• Chime the hour number on the hour
• Play the chimes all day, or only during a specific time window.
*The Westminster Quarters is the most common name for a melody used by a set of clock bells to chime on each quarter hour. The number of chime sets matches the number of quarter hours that have passed.
You can adjust how notifications are displayed in the Notifications section of the Settings app. We recommend the following settings:

Too long
I like the app but the chime goes on way too long. I would like a short chime not a long time of chime and dongs
One of the most useful apps I have
This is one of the best apps I have. Once you set it up it doesn’t need to be running in the background so I tend to forget it exists. I have it set to chime the hour and half hour from 9 AM to 11 PM
Even my coworkers use it while we’re working they hear the chime and say “5:30, break time!” Every now and then someone hears the chimes and starts looking around for the source. When they find out it’s my phone they love the idea.
The developer is very responsive. The one time I had an issue after an IOS update they responded promptly and it was fixed. They released an update to deal with this latest IOS 15 and all is well.
Charming app
This app brings joy to an ailing family member who was missing the Westminster chimes in his new living situation. The sound quality of the chimes is superb, and their activation via Apple Notification service is genius.
The app’s update for iOS 15 allows you to have the chimes sound even when your phone’s Do Not Disturb function is on (or not; it’s controlled by your iPhone “Focus” settings so you can choose either way).
