New format is awful

Before now, I gave it a full 5 stars. It had troubles, but it was worth the hassle because of the service it offers. I concur with the negative reviews of the “update”. The categories were used frequently in this home. I no longer have my “keep watching list”. Plus, it will have me (try to) “connect” over and over until I have just given up on it. It will literally say “Success” as I finish it and then goes right back to the sign-in screen as though I never actually did it in the first place - only to have it say “Success!” again and repeat and rinse etc. . It says it is supposed to stream - but doesn’t. It will show my screen - as if it were screen mirroring, and the sound will play from the appleTV, but we still are watching the “still screen” that is on the phone. That went on for over 30 min, trying to watch Counterpart. I was watching Amazing Stories - only for a few minutes at a time. When I tried to use it on streaming to the appleTV, it kept cutting off every few minutes saying that streaming was not available. So, #1, why does it give that as an option and, #2, why would it stream for several minutes at a time before cutting iff and saying that? Today - it won’t allow me to watch it AT ALL. Beyond annoying. There are many many other issues, but these are the ones that stand out the most.

LOVE the heart, hate the app

I hate to give anything but a five star review here. So much about this company deserves five stars - the very idea, the selection of movies, the social media posts, etc. Please, please keep improving. You’re doing awesome!

However, the app itself has alot frustrations. I understand it might also be because the streaming platforms don’t make it easy on them. But the app doesn’t remember where you are in as you watch the movie. As soon as the device screen goes dark, you have to reopen app, find the movie again, reconnect to chromecast, wait for it to connect, all to just pause the movie if your kids walk in and ask a question. If the electricity goes, or it disconnects for whatever reason, it doesn’t remember where you are and you have to do all previous and then figure that out. If you need close captions, which we use on all other apps because ADHD, they are SO DELAYED to the actual audio, like 2-3 minutes by half way through the movie, it’s just pointless.

So, I’ll never cancel if I can help it. I want to support the project. But please keep working on app support. Such a great idea and so very frustrating to use. Keep working. You can do it!

Please update the age rating!

We like everything about this app so far. However, there are at least two things that need to change.

1) the age rating. VidAngel is categorized as 4+, but it needs to be higher. Our apps on the AppleTV are locked down because of our small children, except for kids apps AND this one now. This is NOT a four year old app. Please change the age rating to what it should be verses something a four year old can access.

2) being able to change filters in the app. My preference would be to change filters on my account online rather than directly in the app. If parents are wanting to block content from kids, they’d still be able to change filters in the app before they start watching the show or movie.

2) You can put a parental pin on the filters so they can not be changed without that pin. It is only available to set on our website. If you are unable to find that, please write to us as well and we can help you with that.
