Last year my oldest grandson became old enough to join a club U12 team. It was his first experience beyond city rec-league soccer. He and I have always had “Our Team” in every sport. We have always been a hockey family that also plays soccer, but we never chose a team outside of the MSL. We sat down together and analyzed the PL and very quickly decided on Arsenal. It’s Gabriel’s job to cheer for whatever team Papa supports; its Papa’s job to learn the history and keep up with the current team. Over the last 9 months I have immersed myself in all of the blogs and podcasts that I could find. Arseblog (and the Arsecast) stands head and shoulders above anything I have found. The reporting is fair and clever. The passion for the team comes through in the writing, but that doesn’t mean that punches are pulled. I can’t wait to read and listen. I wish that all of the sports that I follow had this quality of reporting and punditry. Absolutely excellent!

Arseblog is a Great Compliment to my Fandom

Arseblog has been a great companion to my more than 25 year obsession with the Arsenal. As an American, I came to the English game later in life, but fell in love with the swashbuckling London club as they were racking up trophies and building a squad that would become invincible. Somewhere along the way, I discovered Andrew and then James, and Tim and Amy and all the other contributors, who made my goodly mornings all the better, and helped to provide context and commentary through all the ups and downs of loving a great but not always perfect football club. If you are a Gooner for life, you’d do well to include these fellow AFC fanatics to be part of your football loving experience.

Comprehensive analysis with levity and *boilk*

US-based Gooners don’t have footy news and banter at our disposal. We have to search through various online avenues that lead to unreliable news, passionless objectivity and clickbait garbage. This app keeps you up to date on all things Arsenal (youth & women included) and they do it with accuracy, reliability and endless comedy. It’s the first thing I open on my phone in the morning and if I’m up late enough, the last bits I’ll read at night as the next day starts in the UK.
