A word from our customers:

"There are so many productivity apps out there that are practically clones of each other, with the same old boring workflow that just doesn't work for everyone. It's nice for me to finally have found an app that facilitates true productivity through an effective system", Whirlygirlie, USA

”Finally an app that takes into account all of GTD (unlike Omnifocus that does not take into account the energy nor the time required for action)” - FranckyBorsalino, France

"I've been trying this app out for a while and I love it so far! [...] Using Clair has been helping me take action the way other apps haven't been able to do..." - Whirlygirlie, USA

***

• Clair is designed to minimize context switching, which may be a major tax on your productivity and to maximize feeling of 'flow', which is characterized by a clear sense of goals, and by continuous feedback indicating in how far the last action brought the situation closer to the goal.

• It is a bottom-up approach to organize both your business and personal life. Clair is thoroughly inspired by David Allen's time proven Getting Things Done methodology and gives you the power of structure and a piece of mind.

• The app includes an introduction to GTD and a lot of useful tips about GTD and how the app is intended to be used.

• No prior knowledge of GTD is required. Even if you don't have any earlier experience with the GTD-system, Clair will give you support in adhering to the system, by simply using the app and following its workflow.

• iCloud sync between Apple devices and biometric authentication are supported.
• We highly value your privacy, and your personal data is never read or stored by Real Creations AB (see the link to our privacy policy).

Not ready for daily use

This has some promise, but doesn’t deliver, yet.
The use of contexts seems to work.
The use of “waiting” and “deferred” sounds great, but isn’t working in a useful way. The very first project I started to create ran into trouble.
A “project”, by definition is a multi-step process. If it was a single step, it is just a task. So, reasonably, the multi-steps should be entered with each dependent step as a “waiting on” attached to the prior needed step. “Nested” steps that trigger as the prior step is completed, and the waiting steps don’t show as actionable until the prior needed step is completed. The app only allows one level.
I already have lists. I don’t need another list function. I need something that allows me to nest steps, as many as I need, and I don’t want to see the pending steps. The whole idea is to only be looking at the single next actionable step or task.
Also, couldn’t rename a project after it was created.

Good idea. Incomplete execution.

Needs more work

I like the overall concept. However, I had a couple issues. 1. I couldn't add a task without adding it to a project. This isn't how GTD is supposed to work. Projects are supposed to be for two or more tasks. 2. They won't even let you delete a task once it's added unless you subscribe to the paid version. That is simply ridiculous.

Developer Response ,

I am glad that you like the overall concept of Clair. We listened to your suggestion and now it is possible to add a task without adding it to a project.

Regarding deletion of tasks: We do offer a free 1 month trial which allows you to try the app without any limitations. That includes even the possibility to delete a task. There are no strings attached and the trial can be cancelled at any time, within the first month.

Kind regards,

Deceiving...

I read the description and how there's one month all access free trial and even the note added about how some customers are wrong in the comments but that is completely false. I just downloaded the app and I am unable to delete a context. A pop up prompting me to purchase the pro version keeps coming up. Very sad and explains why this app hasn't become popular. Also, when creating recurring tasks, the only option you have is to repeat "upon completion" and not from due date - so scheduled to repeat every Tues but you completed it this week on Wed it will re change to recurring every Wed.
UPDATE: I did get the free trial so unless there is some trick to getting the trial to activate, I stand by my review.

Developer Response ,

There is no deception. The free trial is activated when you start / purchase the Pro subscription. Yes, without the free trial you will not be able to delete items.

This app is different from many other apps, and our customers appreciate just that. This is a stress free, motivating GTD system and we repeat tasks on an interval which depends on when the task is completed.

The calendar is much more suitable for tasks that you want to repeat on a certain hour or a certain day and everyone should be using some sort of calendar app.

This is why we offer the free trial, so that people can try and see if it fits them. There is no need to judge this app so harshly if it does not fit your particular way of thinking. Please find an app that fits your needs. There are plenty of them.
