Design Philosophy

We believe that reading your favorite news & articles should be fun, engaging, and informative. Some newsreaders seem to make this a chore, treating it like your email inbox. Feedibus presents all content in a chronological timeline. It highlights what it thinks is interesting and groups duplicate content for you just scroll through, discover and enjoy what you like.

We want to go the extra mile for you — for instance, we even analyze the images within an article to detect faces and interesting content so that we can crop them to minimize required space while maintaining essential parts of the image. All powered by the amazing chips in your device!

Updates

We recently added iPad + iCloud Sync support and more is on our todo-list, including apps for other devices such as the Mac or even the Apple Watch. Do you have some ideas or feature request? Send us a message and stay tuned...

Privacy

No sign-up required. All machine learning and processing happens locally on your device. We don’t know what you read, and we don’t want to. Please review our privacy policy for more details.

Pay once, own forever

Since 2.0 Feedibus requires a one-off payment if you download it from the app store. All functionality included. Only for customers of previous versions we maintain legacy in-app purchase options.

* The Fine Print

Magic Content works for many websites; Feedibus supports its machine learning features for most languages, even if you subscribe to feeds of different languages simultaneously. Feedibus’ user interface is currently available in English & German, but more localization is on our to-do list.

In-App-Purchases are subject to the EULA (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/).

Refresh

Update: it does retrieve articles but only periodically though they are limited by how often Apple allows. Hopefully you can get the background refresh to work like News Explorer which I found to be very good.
Original: I love the layout and I want to make this my primary RSS reader but it doesn't background refresh or retrieve new articles (though your website says it does) It does retrieve them if I manually refresh each time. Is this a bug? Five stars if this gets fixed

Developer Response ,

Hey Tagmut, thanks for your review and for updating it. Indeed, is background refresh controlled by the operating system and developers can't control how often it happens (which to some extend is a good thing because I don't want to destroy your battery ;)). Tip: You can add a widget for a feed you want to retrieve more often than normally -- adding a widget will allow for more background runtime for that specific feed.

Great reading UI

I appreciate the reading experience. The app has one of the best clean interfaces for reading articles without distractions. For some reason saving bookmarks in the app doesn’t work, though so I have to save them in another app.

🤩 Thanks for your kind words. We like our app icon, too! Feel free to reach out at mail@feedibus.app in case you have any more feedback for us. 🤗

It’s ok with some flaws

Reply To Dev 23/07/22

Yeah, I read back my review and realized it is pretty confusing. By group by URL feed I meant it for the timeline section.

Basically, the timeline would show the feeds as usual, but have an option to group it by the same feed URL. You can check NetNewsWire for reference.

Original Review

The app icon is definitely cool. But that’s about it. Similar Feeds and Interesting Feeds -The app does have two features I like: similar feeds and feeds that I would find interesting powered by machine learning? What’s Missing - However, it is missing “unread” and “read” filter, and group by URL feed. - Wish we could also jump to the next article when finished reading one article. Issues - It is pretty slow when swiping back and forth. - iCloud sync is not working well. My iPad Pro 12.9 2018 and iPhone SE 2020 are not syncing. Final Thoughts - It’s ok, kinda meh but I could forgive it because of the two useful features it has. Hopefully we can see some fixes to iCloud sync and the filters.

Developer Response ,

Hi and thanks for your review! You are right -- Magic Deduplication and Interests works with machine learning and that is also partly to blame the slower sync compared to other apps as all the machine learning data also needs to be synced but you don't see anything -- so it looks like it is not syncing but in fact it is. You can check in the settings, there is an indicator for sync and you can also force a sync if you want to.

About your suggestions: Read and unread filters are a great idea, although I am not sure what you mean by "group by URL feed" (you can create custom groups, if you have not seen this, yet). UI to jump between articles is already on my list. ;) Swiping can be slow, I am also a bit annoyed by that myself to be honest but I will change that system once the Mac app comes out, so stay tuned.

Again, thanks for the valuable feedback!
